Welcome to Brecon United Methodist Church

God is seeking you, and you are invited to find God at Brecon UMC.

Through warm relationships, uplifting worship, and serving others, you will experience God's love and grace in your life. Come check us out!  You are invited to join us for worship and Sunday school!  All are welcome!

Expect to be greeted when you enter the building and warmly welcomed with friendly smiles and interested people wanting to meet you. Our worship is structured but informal, and we make sure you know what to expect and what will happen next.

Music at the Sunday worship service is a mixture of hymns and contemporary praise songs.

We offer a staffed nursery for children up to 3-years-old starting at 9:30 a.m.  Sunday school for children age 4 and up is at 9:45 a.m., following the time Especially for Children in the worship service.  Children are always welcome to stay in worship, as well, and we offer children's worship bags filled with books and small toys for children!

Pastoral Transition at Brecon UMC

Pastor Beth Anne and I said goodbye last Sunday at Brecon United Methodist Church. It was an emotional day as we celebrated Beth Anne Crego's commissioning as a provisional elder in The West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church and said goodbye to the congregation. Ladies in the church made Pastor Beth Anne a beautiful stole for when she is ordained in a couple years. Our prayers go out to Rev. Gene Wells, the incoming pastor at Brecon UMC, and to our new congregations, North Bend for PBA and Deerfield UMC for me. This Sunday a guest preacher will speak at Brecon. God is moving in wonderful ways--to God be the glory!

United Methodist Church stance on gambling

The United Methodist Church opposes gambling in any form.  The church's position is stated in the denomination's Social Principles.

  • The Church has a key role in fostering responsible government and in helping persons develop health and moral maturity that will help them break free from unhealthy and damaging addictions such as gambling.
  • It is expected that United Methodist churches abstain from the use of raffles, lotteries, bingo, door prizes, other drawing schemes, and games of chance for the purpose of gambling or fundraising. United Methodists should refrain from all forms of gambling practices and work to influence community organizations and be supportive of American Indian tribes in developing forms of funding that do not depend upon gambling.
  • We support the strong enforcement of antigambling laws and the repeal of all…
